Personality Poll

EDIT: Grace is compiling a master list. If you want to be included, leave her a comment.

EDIT:
It appears the polls widget in Blogger is still VERY beta. So if in my poll widget you get an error message that says "Oops - polls are unavailable right now", just reload the page a time or two, or try back a little later. A complete reload might help, too - CTRL+Shift+R or CTRL+F5 on a PC - not sure on a Mac. This reloads the page in it's entirely, not just from cache (which is what usually happens when you reload a page). In any case, let me know in the comments that you voted and what you voted, so we can at least keep track that way.

The Personality Profile has been going around, and I was wondering if you will all play a game with me, just to satisfy my curiosity.

In the sidebar I've added a Poll for personality types. I am just wondering how the types among the bloggers I know measure up to society as a whole. I'll leave the poll open for awhile, like a month, but the sooner you play, the better.

Here's how the types add up in the general population, as percentages, according to Myers Briggs:

ISFJ 13.8
ESFJ 12.3
ISTJ 11.6
ISFP 8.8
ESTJ 8.7
ESFP 8.5
ENFP 8.1
ISTP 5.4
INFP 4.4
ESTP 4.3
INTP 3.3
ENTP 3.2
ENFJ 2.5
INTJ 2.1
ENTJ 1.8
INFJ 1.5

  1. Way cool ... I was hoping someone would do this!

  2. Well, we'll see how many people vote. But I think it will be interesting.

  3. Erin
I took the test and I'm an INFJ!
I read the description and it fits me.
    So...what is your personality type?
    ReplyDelete
  4. I just read your past posts...(catching up ya know)
I see you are an INFP.
    fun to read about you.

  5. Hey Rhonda - Glad to have you back! Be sure to vote your type in my Poll on the left-hand side!

  6. Hey..I tried to do the vote thing on your poll, but it said 'oops...come back later.'(paraphrase).
Is there something wrong with it?
    ReplyDelete
  7. Che - Yeah I edited the top pf my post to reflect this. I guess Blogger is having problems with the polls. Just try reloading the page a few times.
    ReplyDelete
  8. As I thought, I came out as an INFP! I've tried several times to vote, but it's not letting me, I'll try later!
    ReplyDelete
  9. I voted, though we both know what I am ... joining the ranks of the majority so far ... INFP ... but of course, my P is only slightly higher than my J ... meaning, as we talked about before, I am almost a complete mix of INFP and INFJ.

  10. I hope it comes back up I want to do it!

  11. For any of you guys still having trouble with the poll...

If you're using a PC, when you reload a page using the reload/refresh button, F5 or CTRL+R, your browser retrieves whatever data you have on that page from your cache.

Try CTRL+Shift+R - this overrides your cache, and it's been working for me.

But I'm not sure what that would be on a Mac. Sorry.

  12. Lyn - As I tell everyone else, INFP's are many!

The vast majority of bloggers I know (who have announced their MB type) are INFP's. It's weird.
    ReplyDelete
  13. Cynthia - We all know you're weird.

(Did that satisfy your IFNP/4 need for individuality, LOL?)
    ReplyDelete
  14. Barbara - I hope it's working for you next time you visit.

  15. Hi Erin,
I voted. One of the few INTJs. I also linked to your poll on my blog.
    ReplyDelete
  16. Thanks Grace! Glad the poll worked for you.

  17. Great idea! I'm an ISTJ. When I voted, the come-back-later message came up. So I reloaded the page. Then just the results page came up with one vote for ISTJ. Is that my vote, or should I vote again?
    ReplyDelete
  18. Mary - No, I think that's you. There wasn't an ISTJ earlier this morning.
    ReplyDelete
  19. I've voted now! I'm on a Mac, I just kept pressing refresh and eventually we got there!
    ReplyDelete
  20. I did it!
This INFP was counted in, too.
    ReplyDelete
  21. Lyn - Thanks! Glad it worked.
    ReplyDelete
  22. ENTJ ... COULD NOT VOTE ...

not may of me around .. of course my wife could have told you that
    ReplyDelete
  23. What is your fascination oabout the personality profile?
    ReplyDelete
  24. Jeff - Welcome! The poll is definitely buggy. I wouldn't have used the widget if I knew how bad it was. Blogger *says* they are working on the issues with the polls, but for now, the only way around it is to reload the page until it works.

Sorry about that! Consider this an experiment.
    ReplyDelete
  25. Nate - No big reason, just curious. Is there something about my personality type that says I should be fascinated by personality types, lol? I don't know, it's interesting to me.

  26. I voted for INTJ but when I pressed the 'vote' button it went to: "Oops - polls are unavailable right now".

I sure hope my vote counted since there doesn't seem to be a lot of us around!
    ReplyDelete
  27. Susan - Yeah, sorry about that. I'm thinking your vote didn't register, because Grace is an INTJ, too, and the poll only shows one.

If you feel so inclined, come back and reload the page until the poll shows. If it shows the results rather than the voting, then your vote made it. Otherwise, try voting again.

    Sorry about the wonky poll...

  28. I'm an ISTJ. I was about to say, "Introverts of the world, unite!" but that sort of misses the point of being an introvert, doesn't it? :o)
    ReplyDelete
  29. Eventually got it to work! and learnt a useful skill. I didn't know about CTRL+F5 before today.
    ReplyDelete
  30. Alrighty, my vote got submitted. Very interesting to see where everybody is at :)
    ReplyDelete
  31. Barry - LOL good point! Welcome and thanks for playing.
    ReplyDelete
  32. Susan - Glad it finally worked for ya. Thanks for voting!
    ReplyDelete
  33. Jeff - It is interesting, isn't it?
    ReplyDelete
  34. i am an ENFP....who knew?

have you ever heard of the enneagram test? i have a book about it, and an older couple led jerry and i through it in the context of our marriage. it reaaaaaaaaaaly helped give me a lot of insight about my hubby and about myself. we were astonished at how accurate it was.

    i miss you!
    ReplyDelete
  35. Pam - You're an extrovert? I NEVER would have thought THAT! (Can you hear my sarcasm?)

I do know about the Enneagram - there are at least two of us here who are INFP's AND Enneagram type 4's - it would be kinda cool to know that about everyone else, too. But you didn't tell me what Enneagram type you are...

I miss you too, but since you're the extrovert, you have to call me first, LOL. Argh, with school starting and all I'm going crazy - I could use a little grown up time.
    ReplyDelete
  36. ah i must be a slightly more extrovert blogger then, ENFP :)
    ReplyDelete
  37. Paul - Ah but you're still an idealist, so that's cool.
    ReplyDelete
  38. i'm an infj and was told that's very rare. it's good to know others out there who operate like me.
    ReplyDelete
  39. I just took the poll and voted for you. interesting.
    ReplyDelete
  40. Chll24 - INFJ is the most rare type. I think there is only one other among us so far. But you're still part of the introvert club, so you will find good company here.
    ReplyDelete
  41. I am an INTP, scoring 100% on the I... Ugh.
    ReplyDelete
  42. Joy - There's nothing wrong with being an introvert as long as you know that about yourself. Thanks for voting.
    ReplyDelete
  43. Looking at your poll so far, I understand why we do not get along well with others. Do you see it?
    ReplyDelete
  44. From Your Poll So Far:

    ISFJ 13.8 0
    ESFJ 12.3 1
    ISTJ 11.6 4
    ISFP 8.8 1
    ESTJ 8.7 1
    ESFP 8.5 0
    ENFP 8.1 6
    ISTP 5.4 0
77.2% of people Fall in the above categories. Half of the spectrum, 8 categories. 13 or 29.54% of respondants are with the majority of people on the planet.

Then there are the rest of us freaks. 70.46% of us, or 31 of the 44 respondants are with the 22.8% of the population. We are the minority.
    INFP 4.4 11
    ESTP 4.3 1
    INTP 3.3 2
    ENTP 3.2 0
    ENFJ 2.5 1
    INTJ 2.1 8
    ENTJ 1.8 4
    INFJ 1.5 4

So when we state our views, we will not be operating in the majority, because we do no think like other people. Great Stuuf!!!!
    ReplyDelete
  45. Nate - Thanks for breaking that down. Care to do that for me again after September 18th when the poll closes?

Anyhow, no real surprises, we are the minority voices in Christianity, aren't we?
    ReplyDelete
  46. Interesting! This time I came out as an ENFP.....I don't remember what it was the last time I took the test but I'm going to look it up and print them both out...let Chuck read them and decided which is most fitting!!
    ReplyDelete
  47. Ok....I changed my vote....Chuck read the descriptions and laughed...I don't know how I ended up ENFP on that test, a few things fit but the ISFP fits to a tee....
    ReplyDelete
  48. Donna - Umm, yeah, I don't think you're an extrovert, LOL. Glad you had Chuck help you figure yourself out!
