I think every female between the ages of 10 and 25 ought to be required to see this. It's what we all know to be true, but it's easy to pretend it's not true, of the beauty industry. We love to think that the models always look like the finished product - it's so healthy to know it's not reality.

My "au natural" photos can't compete with anything that's been shopped, and I would hate to have to doctor my photos in order to feel OK with them or to measure up. My poor self-esteem just can't handle it.

"... but PhotoShop will make it better."
Sheesh.
Why even bother taking a real photograph in the first place?

ReplyDeleteI agree with you about that. They used to say "don't believe everything you read", but you still trust what you could SEE. Now not even that is true.
I checked out your blog - not because I'm nosy, but because I like to know who I'm talking to. I'm fascinated with what you guys have going on there at Evergreen - if we didn't live impractically far out in the suburbs, we'd definitely give it a go.
