The Monaco Case and other stories

Well the Monaco case is a bust. I can't see the whole screen (maybe 60% of it) through the clear screen cover (which I think is typical of most shell-type cases, but still is ridiculous), the case doesn't stay latched, and the belt clip knob does not stay attached to the case. At least it is a pretty sparkly pink.

I will say that so far I have received good service from TreoDen. I e-mailed them today with my complaints, and they responded promptly. They said they'd be happy to replace it, and they also supplied me with a RMA number so I can return it.

So the search is on again. On my 600 I was using the Uniqase without the belt clip (the 600 case is not available with one), but I did find that the constant shoving it in my pocket with the skin case on was not good for the antenna.

I don't like keeping the Treo in my purse. I like to be able to answer it quickly, and since it's in and out of my hand like 200 times a day, I just like it to be accessible. And I don't always carry a purse. So I *need* a belt clip. Is wearing your phone on your hip akin to the pocket-protectors of the 80's? Well, call me a nerd, but I'm proud of it. And I'm a pretty one...just ask my hubby.

I'm in the process of checking out other options...I could get a skin case without a clip and use it with a holster...but the Seidio Skinned Holster has a ratcheting clip and I want a free-swivel clip. And the back of the Treo isn't nearly as pretty as the front...even though I want the front protected, I want it to show, too. I guess I'm just picky. So sue me.

I like the Covertec Luxury Leather Case, but then there's that aversion to the flip-lid, and I don't like that people couldn't tell what I was wearing on my hip. The ZCover GloveOne seems to have received pretty good reviews at TreoCentral...with a totally removable beltclip...but they got the covering backwards...keys are covered, screen is not.

Why doesn't anyone ever read my mind? A cute pink or lavender skin-or-hard case with the screen protected and the keyboard exposed and a good solid 360 degree swivel beltclip and that covers the SD card and if it's a hard-case it has a serious latch that won't pop open. Why is that so hard?

Sigh.
